CHORNOBYL’: Today, April 26, 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the world’s largest nuclear disaster in Chornobyl, Ukraine. Many innocent Ukrainians suffered and continue to suffer because of recklessness of the soviet regime. Please pray for those innocent victims during Panakhyda today, and always.

ЧОРНОБИЛЬ: Сьогодні, 26 квітня 2026 року, виповнюється 40 років з дня найбільшої ядерної катастрофи у світі в Чорнобилі, Україна. Багато невинних українців постраждали і досі страждають через безрозсудність радянського режиму. Будь ласка, моліться за тих невинних жертв під час Панахіди сьогодні і завжди.

FLOWERS AND LINENS COMMITTEE would like to thank everyone who generously donated to our yearly Easter Flower collection. Thanks to your generosity, we collected $1980. The list of donors is posted at the church entrance. The money collected will help to beautify our church all year long. P.S. Fr. Andrii and the Parish Council would like to thank our Flowers Committee (Pani Matka Joan Szwez, Olga Vorona and Natalia Vaverchak), and Fr. Tony for doing a fantastic job beautifying our church for Pascha.

ЖИТТЯ СВЯТИХ: Сьогодні ми святкуємо неділю Святих Жінок Мироносиць та святих Никодима і Йосипа Аримафейського. Жінки Мироносиці — це ті, хто слідував за Господом разом із Його Матір’ю. Вони залишалися з Господом до кінця Його земного життя. Йосип і Нікодим попросили і взяли тіло Господнє від Пилата. Вони зняли його з Хреста, загорнули в плащаницю, поклали в гробницю, і поклали великий камінь на вхід. За словами євангеліста Матвія (27:57-61), Марія Магдалина і Марія, мати Якова і Іосії, сиділи навпроти гробу і бачили, де Його поклали. Ця інша Марія була Матір’ю Божою. Були присутні не лише вони, але й багато інших жінок, як каже святий Лука (24:10). Сьогодні Церква вшановує святих Марію Магдалину, Марію, дружину Клеопи, Іванну, Соломію, матір синів Зеведея, Марту і Марію, сестер Лазаря, а також Пресвяту Богородицю і Вседіву Марію, яка була прийомною матіррю синів обручника Йосипа — Якова та Іосії. Сьогодні ми також згадуємо святого Йосипа Ариматеїського та Никодима, які були потаємними учнями Господніми.

ТАЇНСТВО ШЛЮБУ: Наталя Сенченко та Тарас Мороз були об’єднані у Таїнстві Святого Шлюбу вчора, 25 квітня 2026 року в нашому храмі. Нехай Бог дарує молодій сім’ї багато щасливих і благословенних років у любові та мирі!

Today – Classes will be held.

In last Sunday’s bulletin, Genna was wished a “happy birthday” in error.  It should have been Anna.  Apologies to both girls. We hope Anna had a blessed birthday. Congratulations to Mark who observed his patron saint’s day, St. Mark the Evangelist, yesterday.

A heartfelt “thank you” to Helen and Peter Zeleniuk who generously donated $1,000 to our “Pennies from Heaven” project for the Maple Leaf House in Ukraine.  May God grant Helen, Peter, Mark, Anna and Genna Many Blessed Years! MNOHAYA LITA! Thanks to the many students who brought their “Pennies” boxes to church last Sunday.  There are still a few that are outstanding and should be given to a teacher by May 17.

Bowling – Invitations have been sent to the children, teens and young adults of our parish to the annual Youth Ministry bowling event at Lessard Lanes in Plainville on June 7.  If you are in one of those groups and haven’t received an invitation, please see Helen Zeleniuk.  Please return the tear off on the bottom of the sheet to Mrs. Zeleniuk as soon as possible whether you will be attending or not.  

Help is needed on Saturday, May 9 at 10:00 am in the church hall to prepare the strawberries for the Mother’s Day strawberry shortcake treat.  Help will also be needed the following morning to set up, serve and clean up.

Memorial Day – The Youth Ministry will be placing flags on the graves of veterans in our cemetery on Osgood Avenue on Saturday, May 23 at 10:00 am – weather permitting.  Help would be appreciated.  Our thanks to Kim Irvin and Heather Duffy for once again chairing this important event.
