HARVEST FESTIVAL: Thanks to all our efforts, the festival was a huge success (better than last year!). The results are as follows: Kitchen $1763, Baked goods – $1380.50, Bread – $1826, UOL tag sale $292, UOL – Raffle $140, Frozen Pyrohi $230, Donations for Ukraine – $125, Vendors – $200 ( still waiting for third vendor money). Total $5956.50 in 5 hours. Great job, everyone! Молодці!

ANGELS CLUB CAMPAIGN: Our 2026-2027 Angels Club Membership Drive will be ending soon. Please consider joining Angels Club. Help support our Church by becoming an Angels Club member. Your $120 donation ($10 per month) includes a banquet and entry into twelve monthly cash drawings. All proceeds go toward heating and air conditioning costs. Many thanks to those who have already sent in their checks.

COFFEE and… Thank you to Hryhorii Protsanyn for hosting coffee and last Sunday! Hosting today is Halyna Kobylianska, hosting next Sunday is UOL. Thank you, Meroslawa Szwez, for donating coffee.
UOL and Sisterhood: our three donation drives continue!!! Please be generous with your donations. The first collection will help our local food pantry prepare for the Holidays. We are collecting canned or boxed food items. (No glass). Each item will have a sticker saying “In remembrance of the Holodomor in Ukraine, so no one will go hungry again.” The second is for Samaritan’s Purse. This organization collects school supplies, bar soaps, washcloths, toothbrushes, small toys, stuffed animals, new socks, hairbrushes, and other small items that fit into a shoebox. UOL members will take the items to the meeting spot and help pack the shoeboxes. Last year, the volunteers packed over 400 boxes. These boxes will be distributed worldwide, including in Ukraine. Please find it in your heart to help those less fortunate than you. Thank you.
SISTERHOOD and UOL: We are currently having three donation drives: Children of Ukraine for St. Nicholas, Operation Christmas Child for children in need everywhere, and a Food Drive for the Food Banks. Thank you for supporting our outreach programs! СЕСТРИНСТВО та УПЛ: Наразі ми проводимо три кампанії зі збору пожертв: «Діти України» для Святого Миколая, «Операція Різдвяна дитина» для дітей, які потребують допомоги, та продовольча кампанія для продовольчих банків.
FROM THE CEMETERY COMMITTEE: The water at the cemetery is shut off for the winter season as of Saturday, October 24th. Please clean any perennial vegetation around headstones. Hostas are getting overgrown and becoming an eyesore; if they are not maintained, they will be cut down and mowed over. Please help keep our cemetery looking nice. Any unmaintained headstones will be trimmed and mowed to the headstone at the Cemetery Caretakers’ discretion. Also, again, Glass IS NOT ALLOWED. This includes candles. We will begin strictly enforcing this bylaw. We apologize in advance for removing these glass candles. Our cemetery is not the only one that has these strict policies. This is for the safety of everyone who visits and walks on the grounds.
BREAD AND ROLLS: If you’d like to have freshly baked rolls and raisin bread for the holidays, please see Ann Bailly to order. We will bake on December 9 and 10, but only if we have enough orders. TODAY – Classes will be held and will dismiss at noon. There will be no classes next Sunday, November 8 (Annual Meeting). Classes will resume on November 15.
Happy birthday to Simion, who will celebrate in the coming week. Congratulations to Karina, who will be observing her patron saint’s day (St. Karina) on November 7. May God grant Simion and Karina MANY BLESSED YEARS! MNOHII LITA!
The Youth Ministry’s Fall Costume Party last Sunday was a happy success. Many thanks to the adults and enthusiastic teens for helping make this event enjoyable.
The annual St. Nicholas celebration will be held on Sunday, December 6, following Divine Liturgy, with rehearsal the morning of Saturday, December 5. All Church School students will be involved. If you know your child will not be taking part, please tell Sarah Bailly or your student’s teacher as soon as possible.
The yearly toy collection, as part of the national Toys for Tots program for children in the Greater New Britain area, will be held from November 15 – December 13. Please donate new, unwrapped toys in the collection boxes in the church hall foyer and sign a star on the Nativity icon.
