BLESSING OF THE GRAVES: Fr. Andrii will be available at our St. Mary’s Cemetery for Paschal blessing of the graves next Sunday, May 12 approximately at 12:00 pm, weather permitting. Please, plan accordingly.

MANY THANKS go to our Flowers and Linens Committee pani matka Joan Szwez and Maria Szwez, as well as to Fr. Tony, for the gorgeous decorations in our church for these Holy Days. Many thanks to those who donated. We collected $2001. Many, blessed years to all of YOU!

A SPECIAL PASKA BAKING: We made $1,282 this time, in addition to $1,942 that we made at the Easter festival. So total paska sales this year are $3,224!! Many thanks go to all who worked, contributed ingredients and placed their orders. Great job everyone!!!

ALTAR SERVERS: The money collected on exiting at the end of Divine Liturgy next Sunday will go to our devoted altar servers fund and is used for small altar beatifications and their fun outings etc. Please be generous.

FROM THE CEMETERY Committee: The committee is still watching overnight temperatures. The plan is to turn the water on at the cemetery on Saturday, April 20th. While not many remain, please remove all Christmas arrangements by the end of the month. If not removed, the committee will remove them. Thank you.

АРТОС – це квасний хліб, який освячується в кінці богослужінь у Великодню неділю в православній церкві. Значення Артоса полягає в тому, що він служить для нагадування всім християнам про події, пов’язані з Воскресінням Христовим. Після Свого Воскресіння Господь не раз з’являвся Своїм учням, їв перед ними і благословляв їхні трапези. Після того, як Господь вознісся на Небеса, Його учні та інші послідовники часто зустрічалися для спільної молитви і прийняття Тіла і Крові Христових. Коли вони сідали за звичайну трапезу (Агапе) після богослужіння, вони залишали порожнє місце на чолі столу для незримо присутнього Господа і клали на це місце буханець квасного хліба (артос). Серед православних християн до цього дня існує звичай зберігати частину Артоса протягом року і з належною пошаною і вірою споживати його під час хвороби або лиха. Його часто їдять разом з питтям святої води.

Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 am in the church hall, students in grades 4 and above and teens are asked to help prepare strawberries for our annual Mother’s Day strawberry shortcake treat.

Sunday, May 12 MOTHER’S DAY – Students and teens are asked to help set up for “Coffee and…” before Divine Liturgy and to serve and clean up after Liturgy.

Sunday, May 12 – All students are reminded to bring their “Pennies from Heaven” collections to present to Fr. Andrii at the end of Liturgy.

Saturday, May 25 at 10:00 am the Youth Ministry will place flags on the graves of veterans at our cemetery.  All Church School students and teens are encouraged to participate.

June 9 – Bowling to celebrate the end of the church School year.  Please give your replies to Helen Zeleniuk as soon as possible.
