НАШЕ ПРЕСТОЛЬНЕ свято буде святкуватися в неділю, 17 вересня. Митрополит Антоній і Архiєпископ Даниїл святкуватимуть цей радісний день разом з нами. Особливий святковий обід, приготований нашими сестрицями, буде запропонований після богослужіння. Вартість обіду – дорослі $25, підлітки 1-18 років $10, діти 10 років і менше – безкоштовно. Сестриці просять про пожертви на покриття витрат. Щира подяка анонімному жертводавцю за $130 пожертву та Іванні Орліану за $100. Ми просимо, щоб усі взяли участь у цих святкуваннях. Приходіть у своїх вишиванках (особливо діти нашої парафії), щоб привітати та помолитися разом з нашими владиками. Владика поблагословить наших дітей на початок нового навчального року теж.
CHURCH NAME DAY CELEBRATION will be held on Sunday, September 17. Metropolitan Antony and Archbishop Daniel will be celebrating this joyous day with us with a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. A special celebratory lunch sponsored by our Sisterhood will be offered after the services. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for teenagers 10-18 years of age, and kids 10 and younger – free. Sisterhood is asking for monetary donations to cover the cost of ingredients. Many thanks go to the anonymous donor for the $130 donation and Ioanna Orleanu for $100. We ask that everyone attend this event in their embroidered outfits (especially the children of our parish) to greet and pray with our Hierarchs. His Eminence will bless our children at the start of the School year also.
A SPECIAL COLLECTION: Money collected today at the end of the services will be sent to the victims of fires in Hawaii. Please be generous!
UOL Project: Sadly, schools and learning in Ukraine have been affected by the massive indiscriminate destruction of this unjust war. In accordance with the mission of the Ukrainian Orthodox League Dedicated to Our Church+Devoted to Its Youth, we are working with fellow parishioner Iryna Dmytryshyn, who is in contact with a school principal in Ukraine, to send school supplies to Borozenske village, Kherson region, southeastern Ukraine. During August, we will be collecting backpacks, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers, pencil cases/pouches, crayons, coloring books, stickers, items for playtime (such as small balls, jump ropes, outside chalk, puzzles, games), also laptop computers and tablets, and monetary donations. Please place your items in the box in the church hall. Monetary donations are especially needed for shipping at this time. Thank you! Please see Isabella Castrillo or Anne Bailly with any questions. We collected $300 last Sunday, and Dan and Diane Phelon from West Suffield donated $300. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Відповідно до місії Української Православної Ліги «Присвячена нашій Церкві+Віддана своїй молоді», ми співпрацюємо з парафіянкою Іриною Дмитришин, яка є в контакті з директором школи в Україні, щоб відправити шкільне приладдя в село Борозенське, Херсонської області. Протягом серпня ми збиратимемо рюкзаки, ручки, олівці, точилки для олівців, гумки, пенали, кольорові олівці, розмальовки, наклейки, предмети для гри (наприклад, маленькі м’ячі, скакалки, крейду, головоломки, ігри), а також портативні комп’ютери та планшети, а також грошові пожертви. Будь ласка, покладіть свої речі в коробку в церковному залі. На даний момент дуже потрібні гроші для пересилки. Дякуємо! Congratulations to Simion who will be observing his patron saint’s day, St. Simion the Stylite on September 1. He will be celebrating his special day on the first day of Church School. May God grant Veronika and Simion MANY BLESSED YEARS! MNOHAYA LITA!
MINI-GOLFING – The Youth Ministry’s annual mini-golfing event will be held at Safari Golf on the Berlin Turnpike on Sunday, September 10. An e-mail with specific information has been sent to all families involved.
CHURCH SCHOOL will begin on September 24. A packet of information and registration forms will be sent to families after Labor Day. Please remember that to be eligible for Church School a student must be in grades kindergarten through 8th and have at least one parent who is a member of this parish.
A reminder that the income from the coffee hour will benefit the Youth Ministry instead of the Scholarship Committee from now through September 3. The Youth Ministry sponsors both a Halloween party and a Pre-Lenten party, mini-golfing and bowling events, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day treats, gifts for Church School graduates, greeting cards and gifts for young adults and shut-ins, decorating the trees, church hall and caroling at Christmas and placing flags on veterans’ graves for Memorial Day. All of the children of the parish are invited to participate in our activities which are solely funded by personal donations and the income from “Coffee and…” Please be generous. Next Sunday will be the final day that donations will go to the Youth Ministry.
