To deny one or the other or both is to deny the very essence of who we are, as humans. We are made in the image and likeness of God. The first four commandments are related to the spiritual, religious worship of God.\u00a01) I am God, don\u2019t have any others; 2) No idols; 3) Do not use Lord\u2019s name in vain; 4) Remember Sabbath and keep it holy. God knows us.\u00a0 He made us.\u00a0 If we do not worship the God of the Bible, the Father with His Son our Lord Jesus Christ, and His Holy Spirit, then we will worship something or someone else.\u00a0That\u2019s an idol. We go to Church to fulfill who we are, to do what we were made to do. She has been a lifeguard since she was 15 and has received the role of Assistant Lifeguard<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sofia graduated<\/strong> from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis.\u00a0 She received the Saint of God award citing her scholarship, her commitment to helping others, and showing what it is to have a relationship with God at the center of her life.\u00a0 She is a National Merit Scholar, an Indiana Academic All-Star, and received the AP Capstone diploma. She will be attending Duke University in North Carolina, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia<\/strong> has received high honors every semester at Holmes Elementary School where she is in the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> grade.\u00a0 She was a student of the month for February and was also honored at a recognition breakfast for her high academic achievement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lilah<\/strong> has received high honors every semester this year at HALS Academy where she is in the 7<sup>th<\/sup> grade.\u00a0 She received an ABC award in her ELA and Music classes.\u00a0 She has had multiple singing solos and duets in chorus and guitar ensembles there.\u00a0 She was also part of a select group that was asked to perform at a Martin Luther King Jr. presentation at Smalley Academy and most recently was MC of her 7<sup>th<\/sup>-grade Storytelling Festival. She was also named Student of the Year for ELA and chorus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cora<\/strong> received Honors for one quarter and High Honors for three quarters in 7<sup>th<\/sup> grade at Westbrook Middle School.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caroline<\/strong> received the CT Council of Language Teachers award for excellence in Spanish at Wethersfield High School where she is a sophomore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachael<\/strong> was inducted into the National Honor Society as well as the English, Tri M Music, and Latin Honor Societies.\u00a0 She received a Cum Laude bronze award in the CT State Latin contest, a Magna Cum Laude in the National Latin Examination as well as the seal of bi-literacy in Latin.\u00a0\u00a0 She has been cited for her outstanding academic achievement as a junior at Newington High School where she has received high honors consistently for her three years there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rebekah<\/strong> was named to the Dean\u2019s List for both semesters of her freshman year at Keene State College in New Hampshire where she is majoring in Early Childhood Education<\/p>\n<p><strong>May God grant<\/strong> Bohdan, these students, and all of the students of the parish MANY BLESSED YEARS!\u00a0 MNOHAYA LITA!<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SUN JUNE 18 2nd Sun. after Pentecost.
